Who can volunteer?

Employees of companies that have joined the Philanthropy Network of NY are able to select the event they would like to participate in.

Do I need to submit an application or a resume to volunteer?

No, you will be required to register online through a link that is provided to you by your company.

Are there certain skills or training that I need to volunteer?

Some volunteer opportunities will require a short training before you begin the activity for the day. The training will be provided by the charity.

Can I volunteer for more than one event?

The number of opportunities an employee can participate in is based on your company’s policy. Please contact your HR Department.

Will there be other companies volunteering at the events?

Yes, events will have many other companies participating. This is a great way to network with your fellow Long Islander’s while giving back to your community

Is there a fee for volunteers to participate in an event?

Your company will pay a nominal registration fee for its employees to participate. A portion of that registration fee will go back to the charity the employee is participating in.

What do volunteer’s wear?

Most activities will be outside, so be aware of the weather the day of the event. We recommend Jeans, Closed Toe Shoes—no high heels or sandals, T -Shirt or Sweatshirt. The chances of getting dirty are good…so no need to dress to impress.
